Forecast Discussion
A weakening cold front will move through the area today. An ongoing
line of showers and thunderstorms should enter western PA during the
morning and move east. Instability will be limited due to insufficient
low level moisture, therefore do not think line will intensify much over
us and should actually continue to weaken. So only expect some weak
showers and possibly a thunderstorm to move across the area in the
afternoon, with the best chance of getting wet further north and west.
The front will stall to our south and will leave us in a trough for the
holiday weekend. The exact timing of showers and thunderstorms will be
tough and dependent on timing and location of shortwaves moving through
the trough. But it currently looks dry Friday with the chance of showers
increasing Friday night and continuing, at least scattered in nature,
through the weekend.
