Dorton injury revealed as ACL tear

Darcy Dorton confirmed Tuesday that she has been out of practice for nearly three weeks after tearing her left anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) and her medial meniscus at practice. She also has severe bone contusions on several different sides of her knee. Updated 3:21 PM

Alyssa D'Errico set the tone early. The junior libero ripped her jump serve over the net, and three consecutive times it found a spot on the floor. The three aces in the first set were part a run of six-straight points in the No. 1 Penn State women's volleyball team's 3-0 win over the No. 9 seed California in the Regional Finals of the NCAA Tournament.
