In response to Zach Good's letter "PSU shouldn't have responded to pictures" Dec. 11, I would like to say that the administration made the right decision to issue a condemnation of the students who dressed up as victims of the Virginia Tech tragedy for Halloween.
Obviously, people have a right to free speech, which allows to say and do as they please. That does not mean that people cannot condemn decisions made freely by others. The overwhelming majority of Penn State believes that these kids were not just inappropriate with their actions, but they were insensitive morons.
Good writes that "if they still decide to write all of us off for the actions of a handful, to hell with them anyway." This is an oversimplified and quite frankly, stupid view of those (Va. Tech students or not) upset with the pictures.
We as the Penn State community have every right to express our opinion on the situation, administration included. How would we look if we did not? How would we feel about ourselves?
