Students don't bring honor to PSU's name

As a recent alumna, I still find myself bragging about Penn State. Unfortunately, this year I find myself shamed.

Our football players are sometimes being considered "thugs" for getting into fights and being accused of other events they should be ashamed of. Next, we're being highlighted all over YouTube for actually throwing bottles at an Ohio State fan.

I can't even begin to tell you how many people sent me this video and questioned what kind of respect our students had. This makes all of us -- alumni included -- look like sore losers.

Now we're in the news for a student who wore a Virginia Tech ensemble with blood on it?

This was a tragic event and could have happened anywhere. It could have been your sister, your best friend or your father who was shot in those fatalities.

Students, teachers and alumni:Please try not to forget when you're out there what kind of image we're trying to portray! You're representing Penn State, and as an alumna, I'm feeling ashamed to admit how much I love PSU.
