Don't plan to eliminate all classes at 8 a.m.

I don't like this idea of getting rid of morning classes and making all the classes afternoon and evening. What about the students who travel home on the weekends? What about the students who want to get their classes done and over with before the afternoon gets here? What about students who work after classes have ended? What about sports and athletics? They practice in the evenings.

The only reason 8 a.m. classes have come to the attention of President Spanier is people who are opposed to something bring it up more and protest it. I'm sure opposing opinions were more likely to be voiced than the opinions of students who are happy with 8 a.m. classes until this article was printed on the Collegian's front page. I hope this article has made students who like 8 a.m. classes realize that if we want them to stay, we must voice our opinions and how much we like them.

Has President Spanier looked at how many 8 a.m. classes are full? And yes, this is college. People do party. But sometimes you have to realize this is college and you're here to get an education. The real world starts working at 8 a.m. and sometimes way before.

I think that if the 8 a.m. and early morning classes are going to be cut out, then this university isn't preparing anyone for the real world. You can't make everyone happy. There will never be a happy medium either. I'm not opposed to changing things around at this university, but the daily class schedule is something that I don't want to see change. If it does change, you can bet I'm not going to keep quiet.
