Letter to the Editor
Recognize Coach Dunn for some achievements

The letters to the editor section is meant for comments and concerns. But what Jason Fass wrote about Coach Jerry Dunn on Nov. 20 was just wrong. I would like to see Jason Fass' credentials about why he should be allowed to come out and blast Jerry Dunn.

Sure, he has the right as a fan and former student to complain, but to demand someone be fired, come on.

Has Jason ever taken a team to the NCAA tournament? Well, Jerry Dunn has done it twice.

OK, if Mr. Fass hasn't made the NCAA field, he has at least gone to the NIT, right? Well, Jerry Dunn has three times.

In case you were wondering, Jerry Dunn is the only coach in Penn State history to have a Penn State team finish in the final Top 25 rankings.

Now, Jason is right, Jerry Dunn doesn't recruit top prospects. And no Crispin was not even close to a top prospect. So aren't his achievements that much more impressive?

Coach Dunn is a good leader for the Penn State team. The way Jason made him look you would have thought he was as dull witted and scatterbrained as the old Roman emperor, Claudius.

Write in and say you don't like where stuff is headed or how it's going, but don't call for someone's job.

Jerry Dunn deserves at least that much respect.
