Freshmen can expect an additional form to fill out to evaluate their first-year seminar professors.
The Undergraduate Student Government (USG) Academic Assembly hopes to gather students' feedback on the seminars.
The USG Senate voted Tuesday night to allocate $950 for the USG Academic Assembly to implement the surveys.
"We want to know what students want in these seminars so we can accurately represent them," Jen Tingo, Academic Assembly vice president, told Senate before its vote.
The surveys will be distributed with Student Rating of Teaching Effectiveness forms at the end of the fall semester.
The assembly will present the results of the surveys this spring to the University Faculty Senate, which is expected to consider changes to the seminars.
