Letter to the Editor
In columnist's analogy, Democrats 'the loser'

Despite Mike Still's whimpering and whining in his Nov. 8 column on the Republican electoral victory, the facts of the election remain unchanged.

Republicans won because they had a plan for defending America, growing the economy and taming government spending. The Democrats provided nothing in the way of new ideas or new thinking, save the party line of "the economy's in the crapper and it's all Bush's fault."

But as the American people showed the Democrats last Tuesday, the repetition of a lie doesn't make it fact. President Bush has worked diligently to turn around an economy that began sagging in the spring of 2000.

And while Still's article attempted to draw a parallel between the Democrats and the "nice guy at the party," the reality of the situation is quite different. The Democrats are equivalent to the
"loser" at the party in Still's analogy.

You know, the guy that tries to pick up a girl by impressing her with his wealth of Dungeons and Dragons trivia knowledge and his mastery of all things Star Trek. The girl doesn't care, and wishes he would stop wasting her time. As demonstrated last Tuesday, the American people feel the same way about the Democratic Party.
